Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area:
Branched Oak contains 5,595 acres with 1,800 acres of water. Several miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails
are available. Throughout the fall, winter and early spring, the reservoir attracts many unique and rare birds.
Park entry permit required.
Located 3.5 mi. north of Malcolm on Raymond Road with entry points from NW 98th Street to NW 140th Street.

Wilderness Park:
The 1475 acre linear park follows the Salt Creek for about 7 miles and has approximately 20 miles of hiking and
horseback trails. A 191 specie park checklist is available.
Located in Lincoln at 1st and Old Cheney, runs from Van Dorn and South 1st Street to Saltillo Road.

Spring Creek Prairie:
Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center is a tallgrass prairie nature preserve that contains 850 acres of land.
In addition to the tallgrass prairie, some small wetlands and wooded habitats can be found. A bird list of over
230 species is available.
Located three miles south of the west edge of Denton; follow SW 98th St. south 3 miles to entrance gate on east
side of road.
Free admission and Trails are open from Sunrise to Sunset.

Pioneers Park Nature Center:
Pioneers Park Nature Center was founded in 1963 and is one of Lincoln's oldest and largest city parks. It has ponds,
woodlands, prairies, wetlands, a stream and over 8 miles of trails to explore the 668 acre park. The Nature Center provides a year-round opportunity for bird viewing.
A 244 specie bird list is available. Admission is free.
Located in Lincoln on the southwest side of the intersection of W Van Dorn and Coddington Ave.
