Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area:
This area includes 40 land acres and almost 300 water acres with 20 small sandpit lakes. State park entry permit required.

Located 3 miles west of Fremont, off of the Old Lincoln Highway or Highway 30.

Hormel Park:
This city park has trails leading through woods to the Platte River. Several small ponds and marshes can be found along the way.

Located just west of Fremont, two miles west of U.S. 77, turn just north of Platte River bridge.

Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area
Adjoins Dead Timber State Recreation Area. Located on the Elkhorn River, the 289-acre park offers woody vegetation, grasses, cropland and marshes. Hunting and fishing permits required.

Located on US Hwy 275 by Scribner.

Dead Timber State Recreation Area
This 200 acre area on the Elkhorn River also includes 50 acres of water. Neighboring next to Powder Horn Wildlife Management Area, the recreation area provides a great opportunity to view wildlife.
